The latest processor was officially introduced at yesterday's Qualcomm press conference Snapdragon 865 (SD865).

After the initial official introduction of the latest processor, Qualcomm focused on some areas where the Snapdragon 865 will bring innovations and improvements. It will be about overall performance, connectivity, photos and video, but also playing games and elements of artificial intelligence.
Connectivity and performance

The novelty is that the 5G module will not be integrated, but will provide connectivity X55 external modem. Maximum data download speed increased to 7 GB per second. Compared to last year's X50 modem, this is an increase of 2 GB per second.
More importantly, the X55 modem supports a wider range of 5G frequencies, especially the subband range 6 GHz. According to Qualcomm, the X55 is its first modem to support all key areas and bands, including mmWave a sub-6 in frequencies T aj FDD.
In the field of WiFi technology, Snapdragon 865 will support the standard wifi 6, as well as last year's Snapdragon 855.
Of course, the novelty also brings improvements on the performance side. A new type of core Kryo 585 brings acceleration of computational operations by 25 percent as its predecessor. Integrated graphics chip Adreno 650 offers 25 percent better performance.
Compared to last year, it's not such a big leap. At the time, the Snapdragon 855 was the first Qualcomm chip to use a 7nm processor and was up to 40 percent faster than the older Snapdragon 845. Of course, this does not degrade the new chipset, and Snapdragon 865 phones will be able to handle anything you can think of.
Up to 200 MPx sensors
Another area that Qualcomm points out is the improvement of photographic properties. It brings a new video chip to the SD865 Spectra 480. It supports transfer rates up to 2 gigapixels (GPx - we seem to use this shortcut more and more often) per second.
According to the manufacturer, this enables a number of new photographic functions. Smartphones with the new SD865 will be able to shoot at resolutions up to 200 MPx.
It will also be possible to create videos in resolutions up to 8K and slow motion videos in frequency 960 fps at 720p. In addition, the new processor will support video capture using Dolby Vision HDR.
Playing games
Snapdragon 865 also includes several new gaming features. The new chip will for the first time support phones with a display that will have a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. This is a parameter that the best gaming monitors currently have.
Qualcomm too allows you to customize the settings of the Adreno graphics chip the first time also application and game developers. This allows players to best modify the graphics settings for the best gaming experience. This will be a process similar to what we know when setting up a graphics card on personal computers.
Artificial intelligence
Snapdragon 865 also promises to improve performance when using AI - artificial intelligence elements. Qualcomm states that the fifth generation used Qualcomm AI Engine the SD865 is twice as powerful as its predecessor, while offering 35 percent higher energy efficiency.
