The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor is among the current top processors installed in smartphones with the Android operating system. Its successor has been spotted in well-known benchmarks.
It's about the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3. As a result, it seems that we will not see the + variant this year, but Qualcomm will immediately jump up a number.
Tested in well-known benchmarks
A new leak revealed the score obtained by this new processor in a well-known benchmark Geekbench 6 a AnTuTu. We can already say that in terms of performance it will again be top notch.
Specifically, in the GeekBench 6 benchmark, the smartphone received a single-core score 2 563 and multicore scores 7 256. This result was currently overshadowed by the iPhone 14 Pro Max with the Apple A16 Bionic processor.
In AnTuTu it even reached up to 1 points, which brings us closer to the two million mark. It's quite a jump, currently the most powerful Android smartphone reaches a score of around 1,3 million points.
Currently, there is a lot of talk that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be based on 4-nanometer manufacturing process from TSMC. At the same time, it will power the flagships around the second half of this year.
However, it is not only about maximum performance, because it must first of all be well cooled to avoid overheating. Qualcomm also has to solve the fact that the new processor is energy efficient, which will lead to better endurance per charge.
Interestingly, this processor was tested on a Xiaomi smartphone. We don't know which model it could be, it is possible Xiaomi 14 series or allegedly being prepared Xiaomi MIX 5.
MediaTek is also preparing a flagship processor
Qualcomm's competition is also not resting on its laurels, and MediaTek is preparing to release a flagship processor with the Dimension 9200+.
The show is already scheduled for 10. May 2023. We will see which processor from the pair will be better in terms of performance.
