A new, premium flagship smartphone Xiaomi 14Ultra was officially introduced to the Chinese market. These are its technical specifications, along with the selling price. The global presentation will take place on February 25 at the MWC fair in Barcelona.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra: 6,73″ 120 Hz LTPO panel and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
smartphone Xiaomi 14Ultra offers slightly rounded edges, including an aluminum frame that is made in a contrasting color (e.g. white smartphone, silver frame). The dimensions of the smartphone stopped at 161,4 x 75,3 x 9,2 mm. The weight of this device is a whopping 224,4 grams.
Xiaomi also worked on the increased resistance of the structure to water and dust, and the 14 Ultra proudly carries it IP68 certificate. The front is home to a large 6,73″ LTPO OLED panel with a high refresh rate 120 Hz, and dynamic recovery from 1 Hz.
The resolution of this panel is 3200 x 1440 pixels (2K, fineness 522 ppi). It also has PWM and DC dimming with a frequency of 1920 Hz, a maximum brightness of up to 3000 nits, as well as Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, and HDR10+.
The latest flagship processor will take care of the performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3, made with 4 nm manufacturing technology. It is complemented by up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of internal storage.
Latest 1″ Sony LYT-900 sensor and ultra-fast charging
But let's move on to the cameras. The main one is a large, up to 1" lens Sony LYT-900 with a resolution of 50 MPx, PDAF focusing and optical image stabilization.
In addition to high resolution, it will also offer a variable aperture in a wide range from f/1.63 up to f/4.0. It also supports high definition video recording (4K / 120 fps).
The main sensor is supplemented with a pair of additional telephoto lenses. It is specifically about Sony IMX858 sensors, the first of which has a focal length of 75 mm, an aperture of f/1.8 and a 3,2-fold optical zoom, and the second subsequently 120 mm with an aperture of f/2.5 and a 5-fold optical zoom.
The fourth camera in the sequence is a 12 mm ultra-wide-angle sensor with a high resolution of 50 MPx and a shooting angle of up to 122°. The smartphone will also offer Leica Summilux technology, developed again in cooperation with the German brand Leica.
The manufacturer also boasted support for the Ultra Zoom function, Ultra Snap and shooting to UltraRAW format. The camera can record 4K video at a respectable 120 fps, possibly 8K video at 30 fps.
There are also software improvements. The operating system is Android, which is supplemented with a graphic superstructure HyperOS. In addition, the manufacturer has also prepared Leica camera improvements and software designed to eliminate accidental touches on the rounded display.
The integrated battery has capacity 5300 mAh, as well as support for ultra-fast 90 W charging via a modern USB C 3.2 Gen 2 connector with a throughput of 10 Gbps. It also comes with fast wireless charging and reverse wireless charging for your accessories.
We have to mention another connectivity WiFi 7 standard, Bluetooth 5.4 with support for Dual-Bluetooth technology, NFC, dual GPS and even two-way satellite communication.
The manufacturer will also sell the Xiaomi 14 Ultra special photo kit, which provides not only physical triggers for more comfortable photography, but also the possibility of attaching a filter to the lens or even extending the battery to a proper one 6800 mAh. Through the kit itself, you can still charge the phone at full speed up to 90W.
Price and availability of the Chinese version of the Ultra smartphone
News Xiaomi 14Ultra will be available in black, blue (glossy) and white-silver (imitation leather) colors. Special accessories in the form of a module for a better grip when taking pictures will also be available, along with a hardware camera trigger. These are the official selling prices in individual configurations:
- 12 GB + 256 GB already from 6499 yuan (converted to approx. €833)
- 16 GB + 256 GB already from 6999 yuan (converted to approx. €897)
- 16 GB + 512 GB already from 7799 yuan (converted to approx. €1000)
- 16 GB + 1 TB already from 8799 yuan (converted to approx. €1128)
- photographic accessories from 699 yuan (approximately €89)
We remind you that this is a Chinese introduction of the device, which is not primarily intended for global customers. However, it is possible that this version will also appear in the offer of international sellers. However, the official global version should be revealed in a few days, namely on February 25, 2024 at a press conference at the MWC 2024 exhibition in Barcelona.
