Design and construction
The first model from this pair, Wanbo X5, it has a glossy white construction, but its dimensions (26,5 x 23,5 x 11,9 cm) are more similar to standard projectors in the shape of a cuboid, with control elements on the upper side. Its design is complemented by golden elements that give it elegance.
On the contrary, it is different Wanbo Mozart 1, which has a vertical version of the structure with a distinctive lens with the support of PixelPro 5.0 technology. The dimensions of this projector stopped at 17,6 x 21 x 22,3 cm.
From the design point of view, these are different constructions and the model wins for us Mozart 1, whose design gives a more premium impression. It's a shame that neither of them has a thread for a tripod or accessories for attaching to the ceiling, which we would especially welcome with the X5 model.
Luminosity in space
A significant difference in the case of this pair of connectors is the maximum brightness. Paradoxically, the cheaper of the two models, Wanbo X5, it offers physically larger dimensions and also a higher brightness value of up to 1100 ANSI lumens. And all this while maintaining a standard LED lens with a lifetime of 20 hours, for projection in dimensions from 40″ to 120″.
Wanbo Mozart 1 offers the already mentioned and innovative PixelPro 5.0 technology and lens with protection against dust and low noise value.
In both cases, there is also automatic focusing, automatic correction of keystone distortion, as well as automatic avoidance of objects in the field of view of the projection. However, object avoidance somehow didn't work for us on the Wanbo X5, despite it being turned on in the settings.
However, the real difference between the brightness of 900 or 1100 ANSI lumens is not significant. Although the X5 model has a slightly better brightness, the best viewing experience with both can only be achieved when the room is slightly shaded. In addition to slightly higher brightness, the Wanbo X5 also offers more saturated colors, while the Wanbo Mozart 1 model has more natural colors.
The more visible difference is in the size of the projection. If we were to place both projectors at the same distance from the wall or screen, the image from the Mozart 1 model would be slightly larger, which suits us better.
Software and connectivity
The back of both projectors contains ports for connecting the projection source. You can use it HDMI connector, as well as a pair of standard USB-A ports.
There is also a connector for power supply (DC port, 230 V), as well as a 3,5 mm audio connector for connecting an external speaker. The built-in ones offer performance 2 x 5W in case Wanbo X5 respectively. 2 x 8W pri Wanbo Mozart 1. Better sound is offered by Mozart 1, as it has stronger speakers, which are complemented by a kind of bass element on the side.
Both projectors support the same native 1080p resolution and operating system Android in the version 9.0. Both can also decode content in 4K resolution.
The user interfaces of these projectors resemble Android TV or Google TV, but they contain several pre-installed applications. What we don't like too much are the multiple links to install various applications that unnecessarily clutter the system.
The absence of certification from Netflix will also freeze, so you will not be able to use this streaming service in full resolution.
Performance and wireless connectivity
The Chinese manufacturer Wanbo does not give too much detailed information about the hardware used, so we only know that Wanbo X5 it has 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.
On the other side, Mozart 1 it offers double capacities, namely 2 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM. In use, you can see that Mozart 1 has a slight upper hand. Although the difference is not great, the system is smoother and the responses to instructions from the remote control are more responsive with the more powerful model.
Both models support Bluetooth version 5 and dual-band WiFi version 6.
Final Rating: Wanbo X5 vs Wanbo Mozart 1
A pair of projectors from the Wanbo brand represents an affordable but stylish solution for the home or office. If you prefer the highest possible brightness value, we recommend this model Wanbo X5 with a value of 1100 ANSI lumens.
