The whole development will take place within own subsidiary, that is, without cooperation with third parties. Xiaomi wants to do everything herself, which can eliminate various leaks. They have already set aside an initial investment of 10 billion yuan for the new electric car project, which is almost 1,3 billion euros.
Xiaomi expects the investment to be worth up to $ 10 billion within ten years.
An electric car at a popular price?
Xiaomi also claims that it will strive for the highest quality electric vehicle and aims to maintain a favorable price, as we are already used to with this company.
We are curious what technologies Xiaomi will use and especially which body version it will choose. Or will we see a whole range of vehicles? Let's be surprised. The whole project should be taken care of by the founder Xiaomi - Lei Jun.
He talked at the conference about Tesla's visit in 2013 and his meeting with Elon Musko. He also said that since January this year, the company has begun to invest in companies that are close to electric cars.
Lei Jun himself stated that he imagines Xiaomi's car as a four-door smartphone. Finally, he presented his vision of a caravan, which will house facilities from the Xiaomi Mi Home ecosystem.
He reminded that the development of an electric vehicle is a very demanding process and every step needs to be carefully thought through in order to avoid failure.
The competition is fierce
The company makes no secret of the fact that it wants to become a competition for Tesla. With this step, it will also boil other electric car manufacturers, such as competitors from Germany, led by BMW, Audi and Mercedes.
Let's not forget that Apple also wants to enter this market and the development of their own electric car has been talked about for several years. Huawei also shows interest.
