It was the beginning of November / November and we received word from our Chinese partner in Banggood that they were inviting their largest partners to their headquarters in China. The invitation also belonged to us, we did not hesitate and enthusiastically accepted it.
Xiaomi Planet in China
On November 23, we went on our 10-day Chinese adventure to Guangzhou, where the Banggood e-shop is located. After a 16-hour flight with one 2-hour stop in the city of Urumqi, where it was freezing at -13 ° C, we finally arrived.
Our Chinese friend Frances was already waiting for us at the airport with a big Black Friday banner. Precisely because of the Black Friday event, Banggood invited us and other partners from all over the world to its headquarters. During this big sale, a special live stream took place, which we also took part in. You can look at it on their YouTube channels.
In addition, we also had a live broadcast on our Facebook and Instagram. We introduced interesting Xiaomi products and handed out exclusive coupons. If you haven't seen it yet, you can check it out in this reference.
We are launching our YouTube channel
During the 10-day working stay in China, we experienced a lot. We recorded almost everything with a 108 MPx camera in the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 smartphone. We cut the recorded material into a short video, which we uploaded to our brand new YouTube channel.

However, this video means much more to us. We are launching a YouTube channel on which we want to bring video reviews of interesting Xiaomi products, mostly less traditional gadgets.
So we will be happy if you subscribe and you'll keep your fingers crossed for us when making videos. We have no previous experience with creating videos, we have to learn a lot and at the beginning do not expect quality at the level of the world's YouTubers.
However, we believe that we will gradually be able to develop in the field of videos and together we will create the largest community Xiaomi YouTube channel in Slovakia (and in the Czech Republic).
Something more from our trip
China is really unreal. The city of Canton is the third largest in the country, it is home to 13 million people and is known for the huge world exhibition Canton Fair. It's incredibly busy.
Literally crazy traffic, narrow streets full of Chinese food, pipe clothes or metal sellers. However, the part of the city where Banggood is located is industrial and very far from the beauty of the center.
During our stay in Banggood, we had the opportunity to see the entire operation of this huge e-commerce business. They showed us departments where they add new products, create discount coupons or a customer support center. They have a total of up to 4 customer support departments throughout the building.
In addition to the modern security of the entire building, where employees log in to work with their faces or fingerprints, we were also surprised by their lunch break. It will be 12 hours, pleasant music will be heard throughout the building, which means lunch time.
They have a half-hour sleep break right after lunch. The lights go out and they simply sleep. When we first saw employees lying on keyboards in a dark office, we were really surprised.
In addition to Banggood, we also reached, for example, the Canton Tower, which is the tallest building in the city. The observation tower 462 meters offers an unforgettable view of the whole city. It is most beautiful in the evening, when it literally plays with different colors and forms the main feature of the center.
There were also tastings of traditional Chinese food, which is very specific. For us Europeans, Chinese food culture is strange in some cases.
We had the opportunity to try the traditional Chinese "Hot Pot" dining, taste roasted pigeons, pork stomachs, congealed duck blood and various sea animals. Definitely the tastiest food we tasted was Peking Duck. If you ever get to China, we recommend giving it a try.
We also visited the nearby city of Shenzhen, 120 km away. However, the fast-train journey at a speed of more than 300 km / h took only 30 minutes. In this city, there is a flagship store of the Xiaomi brand with two floors and hundreds of products.
We couldn't forgive ourselves and spent a decent amount of money, bought everything we could get our hands on. 🙂 We saw the Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha concept with our own eyes, but it cannot be tried, it is protected by a glass display case.
This trip was also about new friendships and we met many new friends. But especially a great man named Andy, who comes from India. Andi and I have found common ground on many things and we plan to visit him in India. Andi has a YouTube channel called Gadget Gig, if you are interested, your subscription will only be welcome.
So, this was a little of our trip to China, during which we gained not only new experiences but also ideas. It is definitely an experience of a lifetime. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our friend Frances and Banggood for making this possible for us.
