What's in the box?
The packaging of rod vacuum cleaners is usually rich in a number of accessories. This is not the case here either. The package of the Shunzao Z15 rod vacuum cleaner contains, in addition to the vacuum cleaner itself, 5 extensions, a charging adapter, an extension rod and a docking station.
Of course there is a floor, electric head with a rotating brush and a smaller electric head for vacuuming sofas, couches or mattresses. The remaining extensions are standard, passive:
- bristle attachment for vacuuming cars, keyboards and other smaller items
- wide attachment for vacuuming fur from sofas
- slotted extension that is backlit
Processing quality
Since Shunzao is a relatively unknown brand to us, unlike popular companies like Dreame or Jimmy, we were curious about the quality of the workmanship. In this area, the vacuum cleaner surprised us in a positive sense.
Although most parts and accessories are made of plastic, everything fits together perfectly and the workmanship is at a high level. We also praise the extension rod power supply system, where you just pull the plastic hoop at the end downwards, instead of squeezing the plastic fuse.
The mentioned rod holds very well after locking, but only time will tell whether a certain will will appear in these joints.
High performance and special brush
The Shunzao Z15 is the successor to the model Z11 Max and has a high suction power of up to 210 AW, or 30 Pa, which are numbers worthy of a flag model. For comparison, the Dreame T000 has a suction power of 30 AW / 190 Pa and the Jimmy H27 Pro has 000 AW / 9 Pa.
The main unit of the vacuum cleaner hides a carbonless motor, which can reach up to 150 rpm. Quality bearings, durable magnets and a magnesium motor cover also guarantee a long service life.
The quality of vacuuming is also multiplied by the special rotating brush of the main floor nozzle. Unlike other vacuum cleaners, it is covered with bristles that have different hardness and also several metal "knives" to ensure that the hair does not get tangled in the brush.
This is truly a unique rotary brush processing, which we have not had the opportunity to see with other bar vacuum cleaners that we have actually tested.
Control and layout of individual elements
The main unit of the Shunzao Z15 vacuum cleaner consists of a motor at the top, filters and a dirt container. There is also a color LED display that displays information about the current mode and battery capacity, but only in a graphical form using a circle.
There are 2 buttons below the display. These are used to switch between the individual modes - Eco, Standard, Turbo and to turn on or off the continuous mode, without having to hold down the shutter button.
The button for opening the container and its emptying also found its place in the upper part. The battery is removable, has a capacity of 3000 mAh and its place is in the lower part, under the handle.
5 stages of filtration and cleaning options
The Shunzao Z15 eliminates secondary air pollution with five different filters. The first is a cyclone separation system, followed by a metal filter with a grid. The third stage is synergistic multi-cyclone separation, the fourth is the E12 HEPA filter, followed by the last, the E10 HEPA filter.
The flagship model of the vacuum cleaner is thus able to eliminate 99.97% of dust particles with a size of 0.3 μm, thus releasing almost completely clean air into the space.
In addition to the classic dusting by opening the lid of the dirt container, you can also wash the individual components of the filtration system separately, under running water.
You simply unscrew the top HEPA filter. The remaining components such as the cyclone and the second HEPA filter are accessible after removing the entire dirt tank. When the lid is opened, the whole container is automatically tilted slightly. You can then remove it by turning it slightly and select the cyclone with the filter.
Vacuum quality
Most of the time during our testing, we vacuumed in the standard mode, which has an automatic adjustment of the suction power based on the surface to be vacuumed. When you hit the carpet and return to the hard floor, you can clearly hear how the vacuum cleaner on the carpet will increase performance and, conversely, reduce it on a hard floor.
The quality of the vacuuming is very good and overall the vacuum cleaner is easy and easy to handle. The joint of the main floor nozzle also bends easily and its operation on the floor is very quiet and light. However, the vacuum cleaner itself represents a burden in the hand, which you feel especially during longer vacuuming.
Endurance and charging
The removable battery has a capacity of 3000 mAh and consists of seven cells. The vacuum cleaner arrived with an almost completely discharged battery, which is not ideal. Charging up to 100% took almost 3 hours and you can also charge in the docking station, which is mounted on the wall.
We tested endurance in the standard mode in the house, where approximately 90% is laminate flooring and 10% is low pile carpets with one exception of small long pile carpets. The battery is depleted in approximately 27 minutes.
It is a pity that the vacuum cleaner does not display a warning when the capacity drops below 20%, for example. The only signal is a red color display of the capacity, but the display will not show any warning until the vacuum cleaner has stopped due to a complete discharge.
For the mop version
A higher version of the Shunzao Z15 Pro will also be available. In addition, this model has an additional extension, which is a mop. It consists of two rotating mops and a 400 ml water tank. However, it is not yet available.
The water is dosed automatically and the attachment also sucks up dirt. Unfortunately, we do not have the version available, but based on the presentation videos and parameters, we expect the mop to be very effective and should be able to remove even the retained dirt.
