Spoločnosť Xiaomi is preparing its flagship devices Xiaomi 14 a Xiaomi 14 Pro. However, the latest news also speaks of a change in the field of software, which will meet the new smartphones. This is a software change, from MIUI to a completely new superstructure HyperOS.
Xiaomi has a new graphical interface HyperOS
After many years of preparation, Xiaomi is changing the name of its typical graphics superstructure MIUI. This label is ending for now and the new interface will offer the label HyperOS. In addition, this new system should bring the connection of the operating system Android and own system Vela from Xiaomi.
Many Chinese manufacturers have decided on such a change, and use the OS suffix in their interface names, following the example of the American company Apple. The statement of the CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, only confirms this.
Today marks a historic moment. After years of collective work, our new operating system, #XiaomiHyperOS, is set to make its official debut on # Xiaomi14Series. pic.twitter.com/bNJqIyD8y0

In fact, Xiaomi first tested the builds under the name MIUI 15. We also saw this when the device was introduced Redmi K60 Ultra. However, the manufacturer decided on a change and a new label HyperOS should feature a new graphics superstructure, with features that were referred to in leaks as features intended for MIUI 15.
This interface will also be based on the Android operating system. It is not a separate package of mobile services, as used by e.g. Huawei. The tested builds of MIUI 15 are based on Android 14, and the HyperOS software should also run on the same version. However, we do not yet know the availability of this news in China or on the global market.
Surprise of the day: MIUI 15 is not happening
Without a doubt, the change in the name of the graphics superstructure can be called today's surprise. After thirteen years, Xiaomi is ending its MIUI and after several weeks of leaks, a new layer of HyperOS is coming. Likewise, the system called MiOS is also changing its name.
The announcement from Xiaomi's workshop does not go into details yet. What is certain, however, is that this new graphics superstructure will be officially introduced alongside the flagship smartphones Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro.
Despite the fact that it is a graphical superstructure of the operating system, Xiaomi communicates this news a little differently. Lei Jun himself, the CEO of Xiaomi and the face of this company, describes HyperOS as "our new operating system".
Minimalist design and a new ecosystem for different devices?
In the first official photo shared by Lei Jun, the Xiaomi co-founder appears holding a test device. This phone, and the case that protects it, also displays the installation screen of the HyperOS operating system with a truly minimalistic user interface. On it you can see the Xiaomi HyperOS logo and the home button.
The HyperOS setup screen is simpler and definitely looks like a completely different operating system. The arrow button, which Xiaomi has been using for years, has also been changed. Therefore, it is logical to point out that the design, appearance, icons and user interface of HyperOS will be somewhat different from the current MIUI. This is also necessary to make the superstructure change evident at first glance.
So excited about #XiaomiHyperOS, and everything else we've got up our sleeve (or in my hand😉). pic.twitter.com/gPifOLEIhk

But what happens to MIUI? Will be HyperOS exclusive to China and we will have MIUI 15 in the rest of the world? Or maybe MIUI 15 will be canceled and not go beyond the beta version, which many users can already download and test? Will HyperOS be only for Xiaomi mobile phones?
Or is the company's intention to launch a single OS that will cover its entire ecosystem, from smartphones to electric scooters, including smart watches, refrigerators or its future Xiaomi Car? We will find the answer to all these questions soon, after the manufacturer's press conference.
