The global versions of the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro do not officially have a Dual SIM, but this way it can be connected

Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro - smartphones whose arrival was expected by all die-hard Xiaomi fans. After their performance, some of the equipment remained pleasantly surprised, while others were disappointed.

Although many people enjoyed this smartphone, they could not get over one thing. The Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro smartphones received Dual SIM support only in the Chinese distribution, the rest of the world is simply unlucky.

Global versions of Xiaomi's new flagships do not have Dual SIM support. But this incomprehensible step by Xiaomi is addressed in today's article.

Xiaomi.EU saves the situation

After successfully loading the Custom ROM from the page xiaomi.eu (for Slovakia and the Czech Republic Miuios.cz), the Dual SIM functionality was activated by software. How is it possible?

The hardware of the global versions of the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro is obviously ready for Dual SIM functionality (ie except for the physical SIM slot), but the software lacks this function. As these modified MIUI ROMs are based on the Chinese version, the user managed to connect the Dual SIM function.

In addition to the modified Xiaomi.EU ROM, however, you will need a Dual SIM slot from the Chinese version of the smartphone, which can be buy at a very low price. This slot fits into the global version of the Mi 10 without any problems.

Thanks to this information, we know that Xiaomi has also implemented the Dual SIM option in the global versions of the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, but they did not provide software or hardware support in the form of a Dual SIM socket.

An incomprehensible step from Xiaomi

Later in the discussion, it is even mentioned that the "finder" of this clever trick even cut a hole for a SIM card into the original Single SIM slot.

This means that the size of the SIM slot in the global version is exactly the same as in the Chinese version, Xiaomi only blinded the second slot.

We do not yet know what led Xiaomi to this step and we can only argue about the real reason. For us, however, it is important at the moment that the Dual SIM option is here and is fully functional.
