Redmi has already launched its series of devices in Europe, and the hierarchically highest model has gained a lot of attention. When compared to the competition, it impresses especially with ultra-fast 120 W cable charging, fast AMOLED display, but especially with up to 200 MPx main camera.
In various technology reviews, you can encounter a wave of criticism towards the 200 MPx camera on the new Redmi smartphone. Yes, it is true that the number of megapixels does not guarantee your success. However, the model Redmi Note 12 Pro + 5G definitely deserves your attention. In the DxOmark ranking, it even surpassed last year's Xiaomi 12 or the folding model Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
The DxOMark analysis revealed several compromises that you will have to accept in the case of this device, but it also has its undeniable advantages, thanks to which ranked 74th overall in the global ranking.
In other words, this 200 MPx sensor surpassed e.g. older Apple iPhone 11 (12 MPx, 1/2,55″), as well as the Google Pixel 6. Of the newer devices, this smartphone outperformed, for example, the Nothing Phone (1) and the Xiaomi 12T, which have a lower number of megapixels.
DxOmark revealed several compromises
The results in daylight were quite positive. Redmi Note 12 Pro + 5G can achieve good dynamic range and white balance. This also applies in poor lighting conditions. In addition, the automatic exposure works correctly in both conditions.
However, DxOmark testing revealed problems with "ghosting" in photos, inconsistent colors, and slow autofocus was also a problem. The 4K video, which loses details and has problems with refocusing, is also unsatisfactory.
