We have only recently been on our website published an article, in which we informed you about the recharge of the second place in the world market share by Xiaomi. Even then, it was more than obvious that the manufacturer had high ambitions.
The latest surveys at the end of the second quarter of this year have revealed another respectable success of the Chinese giant. As you could read in the title, the giant beat the current leader in global sales, putting it at the top of the rankings.
Xiaomi as the world's best-selling brand
Yes, you read that correctly. After long-term efforts and constant growth, Xiaomi managed to subdue the South Korean Samsung and thus earn the title of the largest phone manufacturer on the market. The chart below shows the steady growth of Xiaomi and the slow decline of the American Apple together with Samsung.
At present, Xiaomi has a market share of beautiful 17,1%, Samsung is close with 15,7% and the third largest phone manufacturer is Apple with a share of 14,3%. While Apple and Samsung have been offended in the long run, Xiaomi is moving in the opposite direction.
We are, of course, very pleased with this success as fans of the brand. At the moment, it is not known exactly what this victory is to blame for, but certainly the excellent price-performance ratio of their smartphones and, no doubt, the American ban imposed on Huawei play a big role in that.
We wonder how the situation will develop. As Samsung is preparing several performances in the coming weeks, it is possible that Xiaomi will not warm up as a leader for a long time. Either way, this is a big milestone for the company, thanks to which the competition will take it more seriously than ever before.
