Chinese company Xiaomi brings you a new gadget called Xiaomi One Finger Link. This device will bring the new Xiaomi UWB wireless technology to older Xiaomi TVs.
Xiaomi One Finger Link: A new gadget for any TV
As we learned at the introduction of the new smartphone Xiaomi MIX 4, part of its equipment is also a new technology of wireless communication Xiaomi UWB (also known as "One Finger Link"). The technology achieves a precise spatial orientation at the level of centimeters, thanks to which the connection between the smartphone and smart home smart devices is safer and more accurate.
The company has therefore also released an accessory called the "Xiaomi One Finger Connected Companion", which can also be connected to older Xiaomi TVs. Thanks to these accessories, the TVs will get the Xiaomi UWB function. It is a really small plug-and-play device and will be distributed for free in China. Zero yuan distribution started on August 20, 2021 through the Xiaomi community application.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 and UWB support
New flagship smartphone Xiaomi MIX 4 is factory-equipped with Xiaomi UWB (One Finger Link) wireless communication technology. This technology supports the ultra-wide 500 MHz band at 65 GHz and 8 GHz.
It transmits ultra-small pulses in nano-dimensions via a UWB antenna located on the body of the device. And thanks to this antenna, precise spatial orientation is ensured. The bidirectional TOF method is used to measure the distance between two devices, thanks to which the transmission error rate is only at the level of a few centimeters.
In terms of security, the signal standard Xiaomi UWB contains extremely accurate encryption and time locks. These are difficult to capture and this signal is also able to withstand redirection attacks.
The greater the bandwidth, the greater the signal's ability to distinguish distance in a multi-device environment. Xiaomi UWB technology has the mentioned ultra-wide (500 MHz) radio frequency. It can eliminate most of the effects of interference signals and thus effectively reduces signal interference.
