Popular fitness bracelet Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 receives another software update from the manufacturer. This time it improves step counting and heart rate sensing. This improvement can help provide more accurate results in terms of monitoring sports activities and sleep.
Software update
Following a recent software update that added new sports recognition features, Xiaomi is bringing further improvements. New update for fitness bracelet Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 offers not only improved performance, but also increases measurement accuracy.
This new software update comes with the firmware designation 1.0.1.84 and contains in particular the correction of small errors. However, there is also a general improvement in the system performance of the bracelet. This version is not yet available in our region.
As the information for users indicates, the update appears to improve step recording and heart rate monitoring. These functions should be more accurate and efficient than before.
Improved monitoring of sports activities and sleep
The software update also introduces a new way of interpreting the REM phase of sleep. This improves the way the fitness bracelet recognizes the deep sleep phase for a more accurate representation of it in the Mi Fit app. Improving sleep monitoring is thus appropriate in this case as well.
Currently, the application is only available in Indonesia. However, it is expected that it will soon arrive in other countries where the bracelet is Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 officially on sale. We've also verified the update on our editorial, but it's not currently available in our market. Our firmware version is currently labeled 1.0.1.32.
