Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the king of Chinese smartphones and at the same time one of the most powerful smartphones in the world, the Xiaomi Mi 10. On this most important day of the year for the brand, CEO Lei Jun introduced Xiaomi's flagship smartphones for 2020.
Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro are coming

The new Xiaomi Mi 10 is not just a flagship, it is the latest and most powerful mobile hardware that works flawlessly together and creates one perfect whole. The icing on the cake is its price.
Premium at a glance
The manufacturer built on a traditional and modern design. Almost the entire front was controlled by a large display, which is rounded on the sides towards the back cover. When viewed from the front, the side lines of the frame are therefore minimal.
In the upper part above the display and below it, the framing takes up only a minimal area, also thanks to the narrow frames. The lower "chin" was reduced to only 3,32 mm.
Controls in the form of two physical buttons are traditionally on the right side at the edge of the smartphone. It is a volume control button and below it an on / off button. At the top of the frame is located one of a pair of stereo speakers a infrared port.
A set of six identical holes forms a hole for the speaker, and a single hole with a smaller diameter houses a microphone to pick up ambient sound. At the bottom of the frame is the same grille for the second speaker. In addition, there is a slot for a SIM card and a USB port type C.
The back cover also got rounded along its side edges towards the display. Thanks to this clever design trick, the phone looks slimmer and the side line is effectively minimized.
When looking at the Mi 10 from behind, we see on the left side in the upper part a set of 4 cameras and an LED flash, which is arranged in one line. The first three cameras are located in a common module, while the fourth sensor is located separately.
Unfortunately, all camera sensors protrude significantly above the back panel, so the smartphone placed on the base without additional packaging will be slightly unstable. However, it is a tax on a relatively slim body in combination with physically large cameras.
Xiaomi Mi 10 is coming to market in three color variations. Pastel pink, green and black with a touch of blue and changes its shades at an incident angle of light. The smartphone measures 162,6 x 74,8 x 8,96 mm and the weight has stopped at 208 g.
The display is a significant improvement
The display warmed us up. It's beautiful AMOLED panel with diagonal 6,67 inch and sufficient resolution 2340 x 1080 pixels. Its uniqueness is the ability to set the refresh rate down to the level 90 Hz. Xiaomi also improved the touch response, ie the sampling frequency to twice 180 Hz.
This feature brings incredibly smooth menu transitions, as well as fast display for graphically demanding applications and especially when playing games. In addition, it supports the effect HDR10 + and DCI-P3. Maximum brightness is reached 1120 rivets and the contrast is incredible 5 000 000: 1.
Xiaomi also thinks about the user's health and has optimized the level of blue light to prevent eye damage during long-term use.
In addition to the fingerprint sensor, we also find a hole for the camera in the display, which the developers minimized only to 1,74 mmto eliminate the interfering effect. We evaluate the side rounding of the panel very positively, which creates a so-called flowing display effect during some menu activities. However, the rounding may not suit everyone. The most powerful thing a smartphone can get
As announced a few months in advance, the Xiaomi Mi 10 is equipped with the latest and most powerful chipset Snapdragon 865 from the manufacturer Qualcomm. This 7 nanometer giant is composed of eight new Kryo 585 cores in a ratio of 1 x 2.84 GHz Kryo 585, 3 x 2.42 GHz Kryo 585 and 4 x 1.8 GHz Kryo 585.
A new type of core Kryo 585 brings acceleration of computational operations by 25 percent like its predecessor, the integrated graphics chip promises the same increase in performance Adreno 650.
The novelty is that the 5G module consists of an external X55 modem. Maximum download speed increased to 7 GB per second. More importantly, the X55 modem supports a wider range of 5G frequencies, most notably the 6 GHz subband range and all key areas and bands including mmWave and sub-6 in both TDD and FDD frequencies.
Snapdragon 865 also promises to improve performance when using AI elements - artificial intelligence. The fifth generation Qualcomm AI Engine used in the SD865 is twice as powerful as its predecessor, offering 35 percent higher energy efficiency.
The fastest memory on the market
Xiaomi Mi 10 is equipped with a new module LPDDR5 RAM along with UFS 3.0 fast storage. We have already discussed in detail what this combination brings in a recent article. Equipping the new flagship with these innovations is already official. All this equipment is focused on data transfer speed and energy saving at the same time.
Compared to the previous generation of LPDDR5, the LPDDR4 RAM module increases the data transfer rate from the original 3200 Mbps to 5500 Mbps. It is the fastest mobile memory today. UFS 3.0, in turn, achieves data rates of up to 2900 Mbps, doubling the performance of 1 Mbps for UFS 450.
With other features and functions of the Xiaomi Mi 10, this fast and powerful combination of processor, RAM and storage is directly desirable and brings a completely different dimension to the mobile technology environment.
Specifically, Mi 10 comes with LPDDR5 with capacity 8 GB to 12 GB. For this, there will be a choice with a version with UFS 3.0 storage capacity 128 GB to 256 GB. news not equipped external memory card slot.
Efficient cooling
Proper performance also requires special cooling, and of course this is not missing in the Mi 10. The manufacturer in the Mi 10 differentiates between cooling forms of up to 5 different elements, while in conventional telephones it is usually only one.
First of all, it will be an area up 3000 mm² of active cooling on the VC principle - Vapor Chamber (translated as a steam chamber). Another built-in element will be a large area of multilayer graphite. 6 layers of graphite sheets it covers almost the entire body, and independent graphite cooling is added to the camera and flash areas.
The third heat dissipation element used is graphene. It has excellent heat dissipating properties and is used mainly in the area around the processor. And last but not least, the manufacturer also used matrix temperature sensor technologythat together with AI temperature control strategy, thus artificial intelligence, will contribute to stable and lower temperatures in the process.
In addition, each component in the Xiaomi Mi 10 is covered with an appropriate amount of copper foil along with a thermally conductive gel.

Lei Jun presented the Mi 10 photographic equipment as something fantastic. With the Mi 10, it promises the best photos and videos that your smartphone can achieve. Not only thanks to the sensors used, but also thanks to the top computing hardware.
The rear camera system is perfectly equipped optical and electronic image stabilization, whose element is also aided by an element of artificial intelligence. AI will take care of the best and most suitable setting of parameters during shooting based on the evaluation of ambient conditions.
