Production automation in factories is already a natural development. With the advent of new technologies, people are looking for ways to streamline production or speed up this process. Xiaomi will be one of them as well.
Robotics and artificial intelligence can not only speed up production, but especially reduce costs. But here again there is the problem of job losses.
Xiaomi is starting to automate
The CEO of the Chinese giant, Lei Jun, said that the first phase of building new automated robots had been successfully completed. Everything took place in an experimental factory, which will eventually join the current one.
According to Lei Jun, the presence of people will no longer be necessary in this super-modern factory and everything will be completely autonomous.
No more shortage of supplies
We have had several situations where Xiaomi did not have enough products ready in the past. This is mainly due to their super advantageous pricing policy and people are literally fighting for Xiaomi products.
However, this scenario will not be repeated, because their robotic factory can work up to 60% faster like those present with people.
The new factory is located in Yizhuang, China, but is still in the testing phase. It is therefore not yet ready for full production. When serial production of smartphones starts is still questionable.
So the good news for us is clearly enough stocks, but on the other hand, there is also a risk of redundancies if most factories are automated. Modernization also has its negatives.
