Our favorite Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi this time it brings its new smart box with the official label Xiaomi Box 4S Max. It supports up to 8K decoding, the HDMI 2.1 standard, has an Amlogic chipset, and up to 4 GB of RAM.
Xiaomi Box 4S Max: 8K decoding and RAM boost
Xiaomi has prepared another surprise for us in her home China. It's a smart box Xiaomi Box 4S Max, which is a significant improvement over its predecessors. At first glance, the novelty retains the same design in matte black color, but the "Mi" logo has been replaced by the inscription "Xiaomi", similar to the Mi TV Stick 4K sibling.
However, we will move on to the technical specifications of this product. If we look inside the Box 4S Max, there is a 64-bit quad-core processor Amlogic S905X3. It is complemented by up to 4 GB of RAM (the previous generation contained 2 GB of RAM), as well as 64 GB of internal storage.
In terms of connectivity, the support of the standard will please HDMI 2.1as well as support 8K content decoding. The manufacturer admits that the native resolution support is 4K, but the novelty is the possibility of the mentioned decoding of 8K resolution, which the predecessor did not offer.
Other equipment we can mention support Dolby Audio a DTS-Audio technology. Wi-Fi (802.11 a / c) is also available, and support for wireless content sharing via Google Chromecast is also welcome. The operating system is MIUI TV, which is a graphical superstructure built on the famous Android TV.
