Just a few days ago, we witnessed the introduction of the new flagship smartphone line from Xiaomi's workshop. Two smartphones with individual names were introduced on the domestic market Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro.
And although they offer top flag specifications, the question arises as to what will happen to the successor to last year’s compact version, known as Mi 9 SE.
We will not see in 2020
Xiaomi's chief software officer revealed that despite expectations, we are unlikely to see a renewal of the compact model in 2020 Xiaomi Mi 9 SE. Despite the popularity of this model, low sales and the advent of 5G technology could change the company's attitude to this category.
Moreover, according to the engineer, the advent of 5G did not bring about a favorable development of these compact devices. The new technology requires much larger batteries due to high energy consumption, which of course does not correspond to the smaller dimensions of the device itself.

He joined this controversy Wang Teng Thomas, product manager of Xiaomi. He added in his statement that it is increasingly difficult to design and manufacture state-of-the-art equipment without exceeding certain size limits. And size is a key factor in making a compact device.
