At the end of March, Xiaomi introduced its first flexible device, which it was Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold. The manufacturer decided to make the large display more efficient with a superstructure called MIUI PC. This update with MIUI PC was released for this smartphone. Thanks to XDA-Develoepers, we have access to more photos and videos.
Nice desktop interface
As you can see in the video below, this special mode in MIUI can be started by swiping three fingers from right to left. This activates this function and switches the smartphone to a special desktop mode, reminiscent of, for example, Microsoft Windows.
The goal is to improve productivity on such a large display. The size of the internal display is up to 8 inches. Switching off this mode then proceeds in the same way.
When started, the workspace will appear along with the bottom bar. It displays a menu with all installed applications, currently running applications and also a bar with quick switches. There is also a notification center.
Up to 4 applications running simultaneously
The MIUI PC extension allows up to 4 applications to be run simultaneously. These open in floating windows and the user can very easily resize them. It can also minimize them to the bottom bar or close them completely.
In the bottom bar, next to the notification center, there is an icon and the current time and date. Click to preview the calendar with all events. This is an element that is clearly known to us from Windows 10.
We also know that some supported applications will appear in a special tablet mode that will be more efficient to work with. The MIUI PC should also arrive in the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 tablet. However, according to the latest information, we will not see it until the second half of 2021.
