Smart televisions, otherwise known as Smart TVs, are now a common part of many households, and that is why we decided to bring you an article in which we will reveal to you how you can use the full potential of your Smart TV and Xiaomi. Redmi or POCO smartphone.
To begin with, let's clarify that most of today's tips also work with intermediaries Xiaomi Mi Box-u or Xiaomi Mi TV Stick. These devices run on the Android TV operating system, which communicates very well with the Android system in our smartphones.
Screen share
First of all, we will present you a very simple, but often useful function, "Screen sharing". This is simply mirroring your phone's image to an external monitor, or in this case, a Smart TV.
On your smartphone, search in the search bar and then click on "Wireless display". Next, just enable the function and select yours from the list of devices. If you do not see your Smart TV or other smart device, check if it is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your smartphone.
Screen transmission in MIUI
The function called “Screen Transfer” is more or less the previous function, but with a few added values. If you own a smartphone with the MIUI superstructure, you will be able to use other useful functions related to image mirroring.
In the settings, in the "Connection and sharing" section, there is a "Transfer" option. After clicking on this box, you just need to switch the slider and look for your Smart TV in the list of devices. We also tested this gadget with the Xiaomi Mi Box, but without success. This is probably only a privilege for owners of a real Smart TV.
Screen transfer adds more features to the ordinary Screen share option window minimization, which means that you can continue to use your smartphone independently of the content transmitted to the TV, transfer an image with a locked smartphone, which significantly saves the battery in your smartphone, or even ability to hide private items, so that messages from Messenger, for example, will not be displayed on your TV.
Chromecast feature
This convenience is probably used by most smart device owners. It's about transferring music, videos, photos and many other things wirelessly thanks to the communication between the Android operating system in your smartphone and the Android TV system in your TV or Mi Box.
This feature is available in YouTube, Facebook, Spotify and so on. List of all supported applications you will find on this link. Chromecast is automatically installed in every Mi Box and Mi TV Stick. Both devices need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network to work properly.
Virtual remote control
Finally, we will mention one useful application that we use relatively often in the editorial office. You can find it on the Google Play store under the name "Android TV” and basically it is a virtual remote control for your smart device. In the application you will find, for example, a touchpad with a very good response or a keyboard that makes typing on the TV much easier.
