Spoločnosť Xiaomi has several robotic vacuum cleaners in its portfolio. After the independence of the partner brand Roborock, which focuses on flagship models, Xiaomi continues to manufacture robotic vacuum cleaners under its own direction. One of the highest models under the Xiaomi brand, what are currently on sale, is also Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P.
In the editorial office, we decided to test this robotic vacuum cleaner so that we could evaluate for ourselves how effectively it uses the laser sensor, the mop function and what equipment it actually offers.
Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P: Where to Buy?
In the offer of international dealers you can find the Chinese and global version of the vacuum cleaner. Given that we have most of the smart devices in the global version and on the European server, we have chosen the global version with the designation Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P.
We bought the vacuum cleaner through the dealer DHGate.com, directly from the European warehouse. However, it is currently available from the Banggood dealer in the Czech warehouse.

Packaging: No moping accessories and spare parts
vacuum cleaner Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P they will also come to your home in a standard cardboard box of larger dimensions. In this box, there is a paper box with accessories directly at the top.
The accessories that you have directly in the package consist of a spare and replaceable 2 in 1 tank (vacuuming and moping), a standard and also a spare three-pointed brush, a pair of fabrics for medium and wet moping or an attachment necessary to start the mop function.
Below is the vacuum cleaner itself wrapped in a protective foil. Directly in the vacuum cleaner, there is a tank exclusively for dust and also a lower wide brush. There is also a cleaning brush, which is used to clean parts of the vacuum cleaner from dust.
The package also includes a power cord, in our case with a local European terminal and a charging station that has magnetic terminals for connecting a vacuum cleaner. As you can see, the packaging is really rich, but what about the workmanship and design itself?
Design and construction
Once again, Xiaomi relied on a minimalist design based on previous generations of robotic vacuum cleaners. The dimensions of this model stopped at 35 x 35 x 9,45 centimeters, while the highest part is the laser sensor, which protrudes from the body of the device in its upper part. The weight of the product is then 3,6 kilograms, which is a reasonable value.
The vacuum cleaner is sold in two color versions. We tested the black one, which has a top side made of glossy ABS plastic material. This material looks really minimalist, but very easily captures dust, grease, but also any scratches from the corners of the furniture.
Device layout
On the upper side of the vacuum cleaner there is a cover made of glossy material, but also a protrusion with an orange LDS (laser) sensor and the manufacturer's logo. In addition, under the lid there is a space for a tank (for dust or 2 in 1) and it is also a space for a brush with which you can clean the inside of the vacuum cleaner.
The sides are made of matt black material. In the middle of the vacuum cleaner there is a well-known "bumper" which has an integrated anti-impact sensor. It is through this part that the vacuum cleaner recognizes various corners of furniture and other obstacles.
At the back of the side wall there is a magnetic charging connector that connects to the charging station. The charging station also contains an infrared sensor. However, let's move on to the most important thing, to the bottom of the device.
The vacuum cleaner contains a pair of sprung wheels that can overcome obstacles up to a height of 2 centimeters. In addition, there is a third swivel wheel that allows the vacuum cleaner to rotate. There is also a main brush that absorbs dirt and can be replaced.
Other components include a side resp. corner three-pointed brush, which is used to effectively collect dust under the vacuum cleaner. There is also a group of sensors against falling down the stairs. The vacuum cleaner is very well equipped in terms of sensors, it contains up to 12.
It also contains a speaker, through which it also tells various information about the start of vacuuming, charging and the end of vacuuming. It also reports when it gets stuck or hits an obstacle or when you try to find the vacuum cleaner.
Vacuuming: 2100 pa and three modes
The main task of a robotic vacuum cleaner is, of course, vacuuming. This model offers a suction power of 2100 pa, which is definitely not bad. At present, the performance of top robotic vacuum cleaners is in the range 2000 - 3000 pa.
Vacuuming can be started via a physical button or via a mobile application. The same applies to returning to the charging station. Vacuuming is available in four modes. This is an extremely quiet mode, standard, medium and "turbo" mode.
When vacuuming, the vacuum cleaner first scans the perimeter of the room or apartment using its twelve sensors and then fills the space with a simple movement from side to side. When vacuuming for the first time, the vacuum cleaner scans the entire space of the apartment using a laser sensor and creates a cleaning map, as was the case in our case.
As for the quality of the vacuuming itself, it is a very big shift compared to manual vacuuming. The vacuum cleaner can relatively successfully eliminate dust, crumbs from food or hair and hair of pets. The problem is no space where the diameter of the vacuum cleaner gets and, thanks to its powerful power, covers a sufficient area.
The vacuum cleaner did not have a problem with a higher threshold of 17 millimeters. You will also enjoy active vacuuming even in poor lighting conditions and intelligent movement depending on the cleaning map. We mostly used the medium mode when vacuuming and the extremely quiet mode in the evening.
We tested the vacuuming of a three-room apartment with an area of approximately 74 square meters, which took away about half of the battery capacity. At present, at least 90% is a substitute for manual vacuuming. The problem remains small joints in the corners of the room or behind the furniture, simply a space where the physical dimensions of the vacuum cleaner do not reach.
Moping: Combined or separate
In addition to vacuuming, this model of vacuum cleaner also supports the mop function. The great news that has been loved by many customers now comes in multiple modes. There is a separate mop, but also a combined mop together with vacuuming.
To activate the moping modes, it is necessary to replace the tank with 2 in 1 and pour 200 ml of water into the defined space. After inserting the tank, the vacuum cleaner starts a voice message with the tank inserted. It is also necessary to place a fabric with a mop attachment on the underside.
It is then possible to select the appropriate mode you want to use directly in the application. To increase efficiency, it is also possible to apply a cleaning or polishing spray to the fabric, for example on laminate floors and the like. The technology of the mop function is slightly different from vacuuming.
The combined vacuuming and moping function is very efficient. The vacuum cleaner again scans the perimeter of the room, then fills the space with Y-shaped movements. This movement is intended to simulate manual movements with a mop.
In our testing, we tried mopping a room with an area of approximately 21 square meters. It cost us about half the capacity of the water tank and about 25-30% of the battery capacity. This feature is actually more battery intensive.
There is also more water level, while even the highest is gentle on floating floors and tiles. The function of the mop is really interesting, it moisturizes and really polishes the surface, but at the moment it still doesn't compare to a manual mop. There are limitations in the form of the dimensions of the vacuum cleaner, the capacity of the tank and the technology itself, which is constantly evolving and improving.
The vacuum cleaner does not offer a docking station with automatic emptying, following the example of premium siblings. As an optional accessory, the manufacturer also sells a separate water tank, which is designed exclusively for moping and thus offers a higher water capacity.
Mobile application: Mi Home by Xiaomi
Following the example of other gadgets from Xiaomi, the connection with the Mi Home mobile application is a matter of course. We connected the global version of the product to home Wi-Fi and chose the European application server. We added a vacuum cleaner to our home and to the appropriate room.
As for the menu itself, a space for a cleaning map will appear on the screen as soon as it is clicked. This is where the vacuum cleaner scans the space it cleans. Below you can set the mentioned vacuuming modes (quiet, standard, medium, turbo) and moping (medium wet and wet moping) or select the combined mode.
There is also an abbreviation for cleaning a designated area or part of the map, where, for example, you just accidentally emptied your breakfast cereals. There is also the opposite function, drawing a virtual wall or bounded zone where the vacuum cleaner should not go. It works quickly and easily, the vacuum cleaner respects these limits.
The application settings also cover the cleaning history and there is also a cleaning schedule, for example for each day. It was daily vacuuming that significantly increased the cleanliness and quality of housing. Other functions include vacuuming around the corners of the room, but also repeated vacuuming (the cycle is automatically repeated after vacuuming).
It is also interesting not to disturb the mode, but also the language selection setting. We used the vacuum cleaner in English, especially for reasonable and simple instructions. Slovak or Czech language is not yet supported by the vacuum cleaner.
As for the cleaning map, there is the option to remember the map, edit, delete and restore the map. There is also a naming of individual rooms. We also noticed a problem with the cleaning map, the vacuum cleaner erased the original map for us in the selected zone vacuuming of a certain room and started to create a new one, only a local one with the given room. The solution was to reset and rescan the space. On the other hand, the map is regularly updated based on the surrounding space (for example, moved furniture).
It is also important to mention that the vacuum cleaner also receives updates via the application, and if it accidentally discharges during vacuuming, it will return to the charger itself. After charging, the vacuum cleaner will resume where it left off. The entire movement of the vacuum can be watched live in the application.
A nice feature is the remote control function, where you can control the movements of the vacuum cleaner via four buttons. This smiling feature really resembles operating a toy car.
Connectivity: Voice control via Google Assistant
The vacuum cleaner is connected to the smartphone via the aforementioned Mi Home application. It is possible to set up a Wi-Fi connection via the application. However, only the 2,4 GHz connection frequency is supported.
In addition to the Mi Home application and personalization through the settings of this application, there is also support for smart assistants. The Chinese manufacturer states support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. We tried to connect with both assistants.
The connection with the Amazon assistant Alexa was not successful in our case. The global version of the vacuum cleaner logged on to the European server was not recognized even when the device search from the Mi Home application was completely restored. Setting up the Chinese Mi Home server and re-searching didn't help either.
Instead, the connection was successful for Google Assistant Smart Assistant. If you already have Google Home and Mi Home connected, supported devices will sync automatically. However, the problem is not with the new connection either.
The connection is fast, the device needs to be named and added to the room. Subsequently, the device can be controlled through the Mi Home application, but also by voice, for example with the command "OK Google, start cleaning." The vacuum cleaner can not only be turned on and paused, but also returned to the charging station.
Battery life: 110 minutes of vacuuming
The integrated battery with a capacity of 3200 mAh should offer a total endurance of 110 minutes. However, this is a paper statement from technical specifications and our testing has thoroughly verified this endurance.
The actual endurance of the device may vary depending on the mode you use, but also on the number of obstacles that the vacuum cleaner has to overcome (for example, high thresholds). In our case, we vacuumed a three-room apartment, which the vacuum cleaner was able to vacuum in approximately 50-55 minutes.
Its endurance thus dropped by about half (49-52%) in the standard vacuuming mode, which corresponds to the paper data. The vacuum cleaner recorded worse endurance when moping. Medium combined mode with an area of 20 square meters discharged about 25% of the battery.

Final rating: Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P
Vacuum cleaner with mop support Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P is a very practical helper for the household. It can detect its surroundings with a laser sensor and can even combine vacuuming and moping functions. Automation rules are also interesting, for example in combination with an air purifier. For example, if the air quality value rises above 50, the vacuum cleaner will start cleaning.
We are very pleased to support Smart Google Assistant and voice control. The vacuum cleaner is also suitable for larger apartments and is currently very pleasantly dropped in price. In this price category, it offers a really good price-performance ratio, plus the availability is available in several color versions - white and black.
However, if you need all the premium features, including maps on several floors of a family house or automatic emptying into pockets, you will have to look for a more expensive flag piece.
