But we haven't seen a successor since the first generation Redmi Pro. Now, however, new information is emerging about the alleged Redmi Pro 2, which could become the first flagship of the already independent Redmi brand.

The flagship of the independent Redmi brand has been talked about for a long time. It has even been officially confirmed directly by the brand director. We know that it will come with the most powerful mobile processor to date - the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. This is exactly the chipset that is included in the new leak, which reveals more information about the alleged Redmi Pro 2.
An unofficial render of a smartphone called Redmi Pro 2 has started circulating on the Chinese social network Weibo. In addition to design, the photo also reveals key specifications. Confirms use Snapdragon 855 processor and also talks about retractable front camera. As we can see, the display is almost completely frameless and follows a similar spirit as in the case of Xiaomi Mi MIX 3.
The alleged Redmi Pro 2 should come according to the leak with fingerprint sensor below the display. The triple rear camera, similar to the Mi 9 or Mi 9 SE, cannot be overlooked either. The main sensor is supposed to get 48 MPx resolution and it will be about Sony sensor, probably IMX586, which is already in three models from Xiaomi.
However, the director of the Redmi brand, Lu Weibing, said at the end of last month that the flagship brand Redmi and Snapdragon 855 we almost won't see it. It is therefore possible that an affordable bloated smartphone from Redmi will not arrive until the last quarter of this year. The company is currently fully focused on the sale of Redmi Note 7 and Redmi 7, which are still very successful.
