The Chinese company Redmi recently introduced its historically first gaming smartphone Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. It is only available in China. There was an indication in the MIUI internal code that this smartphone would be sold in the Indian market under the name POCO F3 GT.
Redmi or POCO?
Xiaomi is known for the fact that their models as well as the models of the subsidiaries Redmi and POCO are called differently in different markets. Mostly, Xiaomi will create a smartphone in the Chinese market, and it will appear in the Indian and European markets under a different name. This can confuse customers slightly when ordering, which is not the first time.
This is also the case with the recently introduced Redmi K40 Gaming Edition smartphone. Well-known leaker Kacper Skrzypek revealed in his Twitter account that a model with the code M2104I10I appeared in the internal code of the MIUI superstructure, which could refer to the POCO F3 GT model.
Expect a new rebranding from @IndiaPOCO soon.# RedmiK40Gaming = # POCOF3GT for India. pic.twitter.com/jZcsa1shpn

This code is exactly the same as the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, with the final letter 'I' indicating the model for the Indian market. With this move, the POCO F3 GT would become the global version of the Redmi model that we all expect.
The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition was introduced on April 27 and its complete specifications can be found at our detailed article. Let's not forget that in China, this smartphone starts selling from 255 euros, which is a great price for such a smartphone.
It can be expected that the smartphone will not only be available on the Indian market, but that we could also see it here in Europe, as well as the entire Redmi K40 series. As soon as this happens, we will inform you about it, so follow our website.

Once two versions of one phone were made and there was peace (for example Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi 9SE). Now Xiaomi is making fun of us and will release 5 versions - do the math - Xiaomi Mi 11 as the "base", Mi 11 Pro as the "better" version, Mi 11 Ultra as the "best" version, for the poorer we will make the Mi 11 Lite (also we will do the 4G and 5G version) and finally release the cat-dog under the name Mi 11i. But actually they already started with the Mi 10 (Lite, Classic, Pro and Ultra) and Mi 10T, so why am I complaining...
The Mi 9 series also had several models, the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G was also sold in China, and the Mi 9 Lite was also sold in Europe. With these multiple models under one series started at the Mi 8, this series also had about 4-5 models. Unfortunately, the market is set up in such a way that each manufacturer tries to compete with a different model from another model from another manufacturer, so such versions are also created.
