As you can see, there aren't many differences, but there are some specifications that make smartphones significantly different. It follows from the name and from our table that the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro will be a bit better with the equipment. But is it worth investing more money? Let's look at some of the differences in more detail.
Appearance and design
Both smartphones are almost unrecognizable. The first hallmark may be the color version. The Mi 10 model comes in shades of titanium black, peach gold and ice blue. The Mi 10 Pro will be available in both star blue and pearl white.
In the photos, the titanium black and star blue versions seem to be almost the same. Over time, it may also happen that the manufacturer will produce smarfons in the same color versions.
Visually, however, you can clearly recognize both versions when looking at the rear module with cameras. The Mi 10 Pro model has clearly located laser focus sensors between the second and third camera sensors, which we do not find in the Mi 10.
Display
The display in the Mi 10 series brings unreal parameters. For all, we will mention, for example, the 90 Hz refresh rate and the 180 Hz sampling frequency or contrast ratio of 5: 000.
When we compare all the parameters, we find the difference in only one, and that is brightness. The Mi 10 model has it at the level 1120 rivets and Pro version up to level 1200 rivets.
Performance and memory
There are no differences in this category. Both flagships received exactly the same computer equipment. Just to repeat, we write that it consists of a processor Snapdragon 865, RAM L and storage type UFS 3.0. Both versions scored the same but incredibly high scores when testing AnTuT's performance.
However, the manufacturer equipped the smartphones with different capacities of operational memory and storage. Individual versions of the Mi 10 come in the following variants:
Xiaomi Mi 10 | Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro | |
---|---|---|
RAM / storage | 8 GB / 128 GB | 8 GB / 256 GB |
RAM / storage | 8 GB / 256 GB | 12 GB / 256 GB |
RAM / storage | 12 GB / 256 GB | 12 GB / 512 GB |
Of course, the individual memory versions are also price-graded, but only about that at the end of the article.
One of them is the king of photography
We find the main differences in this category. Whether it's in the set of camera sensors, but the speakers are also different. Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro wins to the fullest in terms of camera and sound equipment. And not only over the twin Mi 10, but currently also over all smartphones in the world.
The smartphone from the renowned company DxOMark, which analyzed both elements of the equipment, received the evaluation of the best cameras and sound. In the evaluation of cameras, the Mi 10 Pro received 124 points and in the evaluation of audio 76 points, thus becoming a world leader in both categories.
We have prepared a detailed overview of the camera sensors of both smartphones. They are arranged from top to bottom, as they are physically arranged in the individual versions of the Mi 10.
Cameras Mi 10:
- 2 MPx portrait depth sensor - aperture f / 2.4, pixel size 1.4 µm
- 108 MPx ISOCELL Samsung Bright S5KHMX - sensor size 1 / 1.33 ″, optical stabilization, aperture f / 1.69, pixel size 1.6 µm 4 in 1, 7 lenses
- 2 MPx super macro sensor - aperture f / 2.4, pixel size 1,12 µm
- 13 MPx ultra wide angle sensor - angle of view 123 degrees, aperture f / 2.4, pixel size 1,12 µm
Mi 10 Pro cameras:
- 8 MPx super telephoto lens PureCel Omnivision OV08A10 - sensor size 1 / 4.4 ″, 10x hybrid optical zoom, optical stabilization, aperture f / 2.0, pixel size 1.0 µm, 5 lenses
- 12 MPx portrait sensor ISOCELL Samsung S5K2L7 - sensor size 1 / 2.6 ″, 2x optical zoom, 2x Phase Detection focusing, aperture f / 2.0, pixel size 1.4 µm, 6 lenses
- 108 MPx ISOCELL Samsung Bright S5KHMX - sensor size 1 / 1.33 ″, optical stabilization, aperture f / 1.69, pixel size 1.6 µm 4 in 1, 8 lenses
- 20 MPx ultra widescreen CMOS BSI Sony IMX350 Exmor RS - sensor size 1 / 2.8 ″, viewing angle 117 degrees, aperture f / 2.2, pixel size 1.0 µm, 6 lenses
As you can see, the Pro version is the clear winner when comparing camera kits.
As far as audio equipment is concerned, both versions lack a connector for a 3,5 mm audio jack. At today's offer wireless headphones however, we no longer take this as a big minus.
Xiaomi's big move is to equip both versions of the flagship with two stereo linear speakers. Here too, however, we find a difference in the size of the cavity, which is the size of the Pro model 1.2 tsp while with the classic Mi 10 it is 1.0 tsp.
Battery and charging
This is the penultimate category in which we find the differences between the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. Interestingly, the improved and more expensive model is equipped with a smaller battery capacity. The Mi 10 Pro has a battery capacity lower by 280 mAh, which, however, is easily completed by super fast charging with a power 50 W.
The Mi 10 model has fast charging technology in the performance of "only" 30 W. Wireless charging and wireless reverse charging have the same level on both smartphones.
Other equipment elements are already the same for both versions of the Mi 10 series.
Price
As always with comparison, the last and often decisive parameter is the price. So let's look at chinese price tags individual versions, as we do not yet know the European ones.
Xiaomi Mi 10 with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB memory for 3999 yuan ~ 530 € / 13 CZK
Xiaomi Mi 10 with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB memory for 4299 yuan ~ 570 € / 14 CZK
Xiaomi Mi 10 with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB memory for 4699 yuan ~ 620 € / 15 CZK
Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB memory for 4999 yuan ~ 660 € / 16 CZK
Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB memory for 5499 yuan ~ 725 € / 18 CZK
Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB memory for 5999 yuan ~ 790 € / 19 CZK
When we compare the lowest price categories, we see a price difference of approximately 130 € / 3 CZK. For this amount, you also get the best mobile photographic equipment in the world, better audio and an improved display or super fast charging.
Whether these benefits are worth such an investment, you have to evaluate for yourself. In our opinion, this is not an abysmal difference in these price categories and we would rather choose the Pro version.
