Today, Xiaomi has officially confirmed something that has been rumored for several months. She publicly announced a collaboration with a photography company Leica.
Officially confirmed
Leica worked with the Chinese company Huawei for several years, where this connection was able to take mobile photography to the next level.
It is with this message that Xiaomi also collaborates. Already last year, he managed to develop a smartphone Xiaomi mi 11 ultra, which is currently the world number two in terms of photographic equipment, according to the prestigious ranking DxOMark.
Xiaomi and @leica_camera have officially reached a global strategic partnership in mobile imaging.

It is through this connection that they could achieve the fact that they could rob the first place. The first smartphone on which both brands have worked together will be the long-awaited model Xiaomi 12Ultra.
I know many of you are curious about why we partnered with @leica_camera and how both companies work together to elevate the mobile photography experience to new heights. There's definitely a lot to talk about, and I'm thrilled to share my thoughts with you. pic.twitter.com/vDmHiTNbL5

So it will be a long-term strategic collaboration to create a camera system for Xiaomi's flagship models, so don't expect to see the Leica logo on middle-class smartphones.
Model Ultra already in July
They also confirmed the information that the first model in the sign of the merger will be the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which should still be introduced in July.
A lot is expected from this model. But all indications are that this model will become the king of mobile photography. But there are still competitors in the form of Apple and Samsung, whose smartphones also produce great photos.
In addition to Huawei, Leica has already worked with companies such as Sharp and Panasonic. In the mobile world, such collaborations are common, as OnePlus collaborates with Hasselblad and in the past, for example, Nokia has partnered with Zeiss.
We know this for now
We already know the design of the model on the basis of leaked guards. It should be in the front 6,73-inch OLED display with 2K resolution and a 120-hertz refresh rate. At the same time it will be about LTPO second generation panel.
The battery will have capacity 4 mAh and Xiaomi will complete it with 120-watt wire charging and 50-watt wireless charging. The whole construction will be water resistant according to the certification IP68.
